TOMMY LEE JAMES ANNOUNCES 'THE WONTONS' SOLO PROJECT

New Music From Hit Writer Available April 14

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 31, 2017) - Hit songwriter Tommy Lee James announced today the release of debut solo project The Wontons, available for purchase April 14.

“This project was all about moving forward with an inspiration and not worrying about where it goes," said James. "I had no attachment to the album’s outcome - I just knew I wanted to do it.”

Though originally inspired by 80's British pop, the ten-track album had other influencers.

“My favorite music through the years, classic Music Row songwriting practice… I couldn’t shake them even if I wanted to. I wanted to go back to not over-thinking anything. I wanted the creative process to be easy.”

James wrote all ten tracks, as well as recorded every instrument but drums.

“I would show up and the engineer would say, “what do you want to do today?” He’d get a click track going for me, and I’d put a guitar part down and then another and kept adding instruments.. It was fun to try and go in and replicate what I was hearing in my head.”

The Wontons will be available on iTunes, Spotify, Pandora and Amazon beginning April 14.
